Brooklynn F.'s Story
Brooklynn was finally diagnosed with kawasaki when she was 2 years old. Brooklynn started running a fever on day 1. We took her to doctor thinking she had an ear infection but she didn't and was diagnosed with a virus. Day 2 fever went higher. Day 3 fever went higher and eyes were red. Doctor said it could be pink eye and virus. Day 4 fever went over 104 and lips were red and throat. Doctor said hand foot mouth disease. Day 5 fever still high red lips and eyes. Went back to pediatrician where they said it could be measles, virus. Day 6 fever very high and she became lethargic. Went to ER. They admitted her. She was there a day while they ran lots of test. Day 7 they finally diagnosed her with kawasaki disease. She got the 1st ivig treatment and we stayed 2 days and went home. The night we can come she started running a high temp. Called pediatrician and we went back the next morning to be admitted. She received a second ivig treatment. We were released on Christmas Eve.
