Ezequiel's Story
My son Ezequiel was 4 months old when he was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease 3 days after getting is 4month vaccine. After getting his vaccine I noticed after A couple of days of him having a fever and giving him Tylenol I noticed his fever wasn’t going down and it just kept going up. I also noticed his eyes were getting blood shot red and his tongue was strawberry red with red chapped lips he didnt have much or an appetite either. His bottle Ozs we’re getting less and less. One morning when we woke up I noticed a dark red rash covering Ezequiels entire back. I called his doctor and they had me take him in right away they checked him put and sent us for some blood work. They sent us home and told us to keep an eye on him and they will call us when the test results come in. A few hours later his doctor called back and said his bloodwork does not look right and something isn’t adding up right. So she told me that she was going to call the hospital and have him admitted for us to wait for her to call us back to let us know when to head to the hospital. So he did. So she call Back and told us we can go ahead and head to the hospital which we did. When we got to the hospital they had a room waiting for him. The doctors immediately looked at him I knew exactly what it was. They told us it was Kawasaki disease. Right away we had asked several questions about this disease because we have never heard of it. They begin to tell us it’s a very rare disease in kids and they don’t know too much about and what causes it. The following day they immediately started to treat it with intravenous gamma globulin. After The treatment was over my husband and I noticed a big difference in our son he was a totally different baby happy and smiling again. Today he is a happy, healthy and thriving 1year old.
